Small Cities Development Program (SCDP)
The City of Grand Rapids was awarded the Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) funding from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. These funds are to provide deferred loans for residential rehabilitation projects. Project examples include energy efficient modifications, faucets, lighting, and smoke detectors. The Itasca County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (ICHRA) is overseeing the selection process.

Home Preservation Program
Habitat for Humanity's Home Preservation Program works with homeowners who need assistance with interior and exterior repairs to help maintain their home. Project examples include painting, landscaping, minor interior, and exterior maintenance. Each project is unique to the homeowners situation and may include low to zero interest loans and sweat equity hours contributed by the owner.

Day of Action Program
United Way recruits and organizes a volunteer workforce comprised of all skill levels and ages to help with a varity of outside projects. Crews help with tasks such as painting, landscaping, clean-up, power washing, and more.
